Sunday @ Shasta Lake

Needless to say I had a good day at the lake today. Ran out of worms or there might have been a few more. What you see here are 4 silver salmon and a decent bass. All of them put up a great fight! Not sure why I was the only one catching anything but I know I was excited. I even had to throw a couple small bass back. The new fishfinder worked pretty good. Was able to read the display even in bright sunlight. Not that it helped catch the fish, but I was able to tell what depth they seemed to be running at. The secret is the bait....Night Crawlers.

Nice! I'm looking forward to hitting the piers soon. Some croakers are biting, but they are still a bit small.
Awesome catch...bet they tasted great.
I use to pier fish alot in Santa Cruz. Bloodworms usually produced a nice perch or three. The secret though was using light gear. I almost always was giving away fish to the tourists who couldn't catch anything.

Got home too late to cook them but we still have some room in the freezer. With any luck I'll have to give some away to make room for the king salmon when the season opens. I've got a nice smoker and also we bake a lot of our fish.
That's some nice looking fish. Why so glum, though?
Let's see I think it was more of exhaustion. When we go fishing I do all the work loading and unloading and cleaning things up...also cleaning the fish. We were out around 12 hours that day...very long day.
better than 12 hours of listening to customers complain their computers don't work..eh?......good for u man.......fish like a fool
