Actually it WAS a new product many moons ago, Windows 3.1 ran on top of it. If you Google MSDOS you might find some interesting write ups on it. This goes back to the days when you had to type commands to navigate and manage your computer.

I do remember DOS and typing the commands in. I am old enough for that. lol

Those were the days. I do things in DOS now days and people look at me like I'm some kind of wizard or something. For my next trick, I'll use hyperterminal to send "ATZ" to the modem... (which also gets a lot of raised eyebrows)

I used to have a 5 line bbs in the Santa Cruz area. I get pissed off when I call tech support to replace a modem. My first modem was a 2400 baud but also still have a 300 baud in an old CPM system.They always want to re-troubleshoot to replace a $5.00 friggin modem...geez.
