The week is finally over and probably gonna work in the yard on the fence posts today. I need to cut them off and start connecting the cross braces. I'm just gonna use up some of the materials I already have so I won't get to far probably. I could probably rip a 4x4 in half though. I have a few of those. I hate to do that though because I could also start sinking posts down the alley side of the house.

Here's my progress so far...

I suprised myself and actually sunk these posts in a straight line. The old fence posts were so rotton that I was able to pull them right out of the concrete. This posed another problem...pulling out the old concrete.

How long is it going to take to get the fence up? Hope you don't kill yourself in the process. Personally, I'd rather pay someone to do it.
Very good question...
I think the main thing is commitment to finish it. Besides not knowing what I'm doing really, money is one of the issues. I buy materials a little here and a little there out of the pocket. Doing it slowly gives me time to design as I go so to speak. And on a good note, get off my skinny butt and get outside and do something besides sit here typing on the PC.
I drove by the Winchester Mystery House recently on my Bay Area trip and got inspired again. Actually got reminded that my project may never come to completion at the current rate. Actually nailing up the face boards though will go rather fast once I have all the framing issues worked out.
The front fence is actually a combination mini retaining wall/fence. When completed, will allow me to level up the dirt in the front of the house to put a small patio/garden in.
Good luck. Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of time.
