Good to be Home!

Went back to Sacramento on Wedneday and came back last night. Fortunately, just in time to clean up another mess that came in. Kind of hard to do from Sacramento. I imagine sleeping alot on Saturday and Sunday. Looks like I have a couple of printers to fix today again among other things. Usually, printer calls come in as soon as I even tip-toe out of my normal area. They are considered a high priority call and pretty much take precidence over other calls except servers.

I did have a few minutes to talk with the district manager though on this trip. I mentioned that at some point I would like to talk to him about moving into an FNS position. This basically is a support position for the entire organisation of about 1700 techs worldwide. You work from home in your undies if you want.

He sounded enthusiastic and will support me when that time comes. I told him I would like to talk to him and develop a roadmap to achieve that goal when it's too hard to keep up the pace due to my age.

I'm not sure how the pay is yet but, my assumption is that since I'm working at home, I could blend in some other revenue stream like selling on EBAY or something. Things I can't do or don't have energy for now anyway.

Retirement is not an option.

Sounds like a cool option. Hope that works out. You would get too bored doing nothing. We all do. lol
Working at home is not all it's cracked up to be. You actually end up doing MORE work. It's also nice--once in a while--to get out of the house. That's one reason I'm glad my wife decided to get the kids enrolled at the Y--I am currently using it more than they are. ;)
