Phone, Phone and oh, Did I say Phone?

Last week old faithful decided that it didn't want to let us hear what people were saying over the regular speaker on our handset. I usually just use the speakephone but now that and a headphone plugged into it is the only thing that works.

And of course the thing is off warranty and that model is not being produced anymore.

I called AT&T and they told me which handsets were compatible with the base unit. With a little searching up on EBAY I found a deal for a handset extention with charger and bought two of them. Since the Guy was in Ontario, Canada, it took about 10 days to get here.

Well worth the wait.

Now I have a new handset on my desk, the secretary has hers on her desk and the old one is in the bedroom. If mine is missing when I need it now...it's likely my fault....now.

I hate buying landline phones, particularly the multi-handset systems. If you need another handset and you actually buy them at the same time you buy the base system, it's straightforward. After that, it's a crapshoot.Costco is a great place to get multi handset systems. They frequently sell you the base unit and at least two additional handsets.
We didn't plan in advance. I got tired of having to ask for the phone from my resident chatter box who frequntly misplaced it. Thanks for the Costco tip. We should be good for a few years now though so remindme later. LOL
Costco is good for so many wonderful things. Their return policy alone makes it worth the $50 a year.
I fix the printers for Cosco in Redding and Chico. They do have a lot of cool stuff, but not what I'm currently looking for. Of course when the TV dies or next time we need glasses, I plan on joining. They do have great deals overall.
When I eventually do get a new TV, I'l probably buy it at Costco--again, just for the return policy. Of course, we have our old TVs from 1990 that haven't died yet. At some point, after the government and cable companies decide to put analog TVs out to pasture, maybe I'll buy one. A significant amount of the food I eat comes from Costco.
