Ants Produce CO2

I found this to be an interesting video. What goes on beneath the earth is very interesting. It shows how important CO2 is not only to the ants but if you expand your thoughts a little you can see how important it is to the entire world. Ask yourself where does wind come from...In our homes and offices we use fans.

The Heating and cooling of the earth creates natural airflow. 50% of the earth is always in darkness but CO2 also could play a part in natural airflow. Where does smoke from the forest fires really go?...There have been forest fires for millions of years. By now the earth should be like a smoke-filled bar.

Ants need fresh air so they create CO2. They are all set to inherit the earth.

Global Warming Update

44% Say Global Warming Due To Planetary Trends, Not People

Public opinion is changing and so are the opinions of the experts!

Long-term Perspective -- 2008
Snow is covering a greater area of North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China than at any time since 1966. The U.S. National Climatic Data Center reports that many American cities experienced record cold temperatures in January and early February, 2007. The NCDC report states the average temperature in January "was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average." China is weathering the most brutal winter in a century.
During the the first two weeks of February, 2008, Toronto, Canada, received 70 cm of snow. This broke the record of 66.6 cm for the entire month set in 1950. About the Arctic Sea ice that we were warned was melting. That ice that was identified in the Fall , 2007, as having melted to its "lowest levels on record". Those levels were only recorded beginning in 1972. There is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past. As of late February, 2008, that ice has returned. In fact, that ice is 10 to 20 cm thicker in many places than at this time during 2007.
Two prominent climate modelers -- Robert Toggweiler of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at Princeton University and Joellen Russell, assistant professor of biogeochemical dynamics at the University of Arizona -- the computer models showing that polar ice-melt is cooling the oceans, stopping the circulation of warm equatorial water to northern latitudes and triggering another Ice Age are misconceived and fundamentally flawed.
Professor Russell says that, "We missed what was right in front of our eyes". It's not ice melt but rather wind circulation that drives ocean currents northward from the tropics. Climate models until now have not properly accounted for the wind's effects on ocean circulation, so researchers have compensated their models' parameters by over-emphasizing the role of manmade warming on polar ice melt.
Professors Toggweiler and Russell reconfigured their computer model to include the 40-year cycle of winds away from the equator and then back towards it again, the role of ocean currents bringing warm southern waters to the north was obvious in the current Arctic warming.
Kenneth Tapping of Canada's National Research Council oversees a giant radio telescope focused on the sun. He is convinced that the earth will experience a long period of severely cold weather unless sunspot activity increases soon.
The last time the sun was this inactive, earth experienced the Little Ice Age that lasted for about five centuries. It ended in 1850. Crops failed through killer frosts and drought. Famine, plague and war were widespread. Harbors and rivers froze over and trade ceased.
========================================

Any one single force of nature is bigger than all of mankind combined. Even if we obliterate it, the Earth will repair itself. Unless you consider all the forces, have enough hard data to support and create a sound theory it becomes quite presumptuous to think MAN would be able to make such a significant impact as the Global Warming crowd purports.

Now's the Time to Invest!

OK so the government seems to think they can fix everything by printing money. That's what the bailouts are all about. Like I've said before, I'm no rocket scientist and certainly don't have all the answers, but when the government prints money, whatever money you have will have less buying power. In plain English, your dollar becomes less valuable,

I recall as a young boy, talking with a neighbor who had immigrated from Germany with his family. He told me it was so bad over there, he had to take a wheelbarrow full of money to the store to buy a loaf of bread. That's where we are headed with this bailout mentality our government has.

Unless your head is under a rock, you may have heard at one time how worthless the Mexican Peso was...I'm stressing WAS! check out the current exchange rates:

Anyone that thinks the government can fix anything isn't living in reality.

Government intervention and greed for tax dollars is exactly why we are in the fix we are in. The markets can correct themselves without any help. Proof in point is, all Obama has to do is announce an across the board tax cut. That means cutting corporate taxes, import taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, death taxes, sin taxes and so on. He doesn't even have to do it, just announce it. Within 24 hours the stock markets around the globe would soar!

Considering the odds of that happening with a Democratically (socialistc minded) controlled government, now might be the time to buy some Pesos. We are already 1 Trillion+ in debt and they want to double that. What that boils down to is fiscal irresponsibility. My grandkids grandkids aren't even born yet and they already have a looming debt to pay off...who's gonna be able to?

The Shy Cat and Lexxy update

The last couple evenings the new cat Simon has gotten a smidge braver. He must be getting lonely after two weeks of hiding and nocturnal behavior. The night before last he was peeking at us from side of the fridge. Last night he was laying on his side in full view of us and Lexxy from the side next to the fridge. He stayed there for quite some time washing himself. That's his two week+ progress.

I was out fixing a laptop for the people I got Lexxy from and gave them an update on her. They miss her of course. It seems that she used to chase of coyotes, buzzards, crows etc until they left the property. She litterally goes ape when one of the larger birds fly overhead and she sees it. Apparently, she also used to go into thier pond and snag a fish and come out and eat it. That explains her liking for anchovies and salmon roe.

Even the new cat doesn't like anchovies. The Cat Lady doesn't like anchovies either but me and Lexxy do...and we both like to go fishing.

Depleted uranium found in Gaza victims

Depleted uranium found in Gaza victims

Medics tell Press TV they have found traces of depleted uranium in some Gazan residents wounded in Israel's ground offensive into the strip.

Norwegian medics told Press TV correspondent Akram al-Sattari that some of the victims who have been wounded since Israel began its attacks on the Gaza Strip on December 27 have traces of depleted uranium in their bodies.

The report comes after Israeli tanks and troops swept across the border into Gaza on Saturday night, opening a ground operation after eight days of intensive attacks by Israeli air and naval forces on the impoverished region.

Doctor Who News

This Just In!

The BBC confirmed today that it will reveal the identity of the Eleventh Doctor as part of a special edition of Doctor Who Confidential to be aired on BBC ONE today, Saturday 03 January at 17:35hrs.

David Tennant is stepping down at the end of 2009. There will be no Season 5 until sometime in 2010 but to keep fans busy during 2009, there will be 4 specials aired on BBC One starring David Tennant.

The first special "Planet of the Dead" should air on easter according to the BBC website....too cool! It was looking like Doctor Who may be getting faised out. But apparently not yet.

On January 1, 2009 The BBC aired the "Doctor Who at the Proms" concert at Albert Hall. Unless you live in the UK then you can't watch it on-line but the torrent is already out. Simply an awsome show. I wish I could have been there.

Of course, security must be really lax in the UK!
